Conference: the challenges of energy for European businesses

Time and place

Energy challenges European industry. The European Union is debating this vital issue with a focus on the development of strategies for industry to lower its carbon footprint and energy dependence while maintaining and increasing competiveness. From July to December 2010, Belgium will take the presidency of the European Union and Minister Jean-Claude Marcourt will be in charge of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Industry. On this occasion, Minister Marcourt will organise a special event concerning these crucial matters.

The conference will focus on the imperatives of competitiveness of European businesses, the constraints and opportunities induced by the energy revolution and some technological trends that must be developed such as clean cars, renewable energy and smart grid.
