ITS World Congress 2012 news

The beautiful central European city of Vienna will be hosting the ITS World Congress in 2012, a major event gathering leading transport experts from around the globe.

Five working groups for the ITS Vienna 2012 were introduced at the kick-off meeting on 1 June 2010

• smart traveller
• smart cargo
• smart infrastructure
• smart vehicle
• smart region

In each of these working groups, representatives of industry, research, institutions and public authorities will identify main topics for the congress from the hosts’ point of view. The working groups will also develop demonstration and showcase scenarios for ITS Vienna 2012 to visualise state-of-the art Intelligent Transport Systems and Services from Austria and the host region. The working group activities will start in September 2010.
